There is a photo that circulated after a natural disaster a few years ago. The photo shows a physically-fit First Responder carrying a woman and her baby through flood waters. Several steps in front of them is the woman’s husband, unharmed, out of shape, and carrying a pair of shoes… while another man carries his girl and his child to safety, because he couldn’t do it. We have a saying in my retreats and trainings: DON’T BE THE GUY CARRYING THE SHOES. Do the work. Strengthen your body and mind. Earn the right to be in-shape and ready to protect those around you. This instruction will help you do just that.
